Product description
Duke Lucky Jack SLS5 – The Next Generation of XC Rims
The new Lucky Jack SLS5 is the most advanced XC mountain bike rim in Duke’s lineup. Thanks to the new Super Light Series 5 (SLS5) manufacturing process, Duke has successfully reduced weight while improving ride comfort and impact resistance.
Key improvements over the previous generation:
- 10% lower weight
- 15% greater vertical compliance for improved traction and comfort
- Higher resistance to impacts and lateral loads
- Enhanced vibration damping
- New ImpactGuard and SpokeCore technologies
ImpactGuard – Enhanced Impact Protection
Special high-resilience inserts integrated inside the rim absorb energy from both minor and severe impacts. With a density comparable to carbon fiber, they significantly improve impact resistance with virtually no weight penalty.
SpokeCore – Stronger by Design
Instead of drilling spoke holes after production, the nipple holes are molded directly into the rim during the manufacturing process. This preserves the continuity of the carbon fibers, increases durability, and allows for more precise control of the rim’s stiffness.
What Does It Mean on the Trail?
DRC (Dynamic Response Comfort) technology allows the rim to flex in a controlled manner, improving the bike’s handling on demanding terrain.
Benefits:
- Quicker acceleration response
- Improved cornering grip
- Greater comfort over rough terrain
- More stable and predictable handling
- Exceptional durability for intensive riding
Why CarbonOne?
A premium rim is only part of a great wheelset. The final performance also depends on selecting the right hubs, spokes, spoke count, and on the quality of the wheel build itself.
At CarbonOne, every wheelset built with Lucky Jack SLS5 rims is hand-built with individually selected components and precisely balanced spoke tension. This ensures that every wheel fully unlocks the performance potential of Duke’s latest SLS5 technology.
